2010 INAUGURAL

LOWER EASTERN SHORE ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC BOAT SHOW

The Wicomico Yacht Club 2010 Inaugural Lower Eastern Shore Boat Show is being planned to offer an interesting and enjoyable weekend centered around boats and our local waters.

The Boat Show weekend will commence with a Friday night get-together at the Wicomico Yacht Club where visitors and locals can be introduced and discuss boats and local boating.  On Saturday morning the boat show will commence with the in-water portion of the show being launched and set up for viewing.  The on-shore boats will also be set up and a select few vendors for artwork and such will be arriving.  We will also plan on having a kit boat manufacturer on site to show their wares, get conversation going, and add to the overall interest in the event.  Registration for the event will be in advance via email or in person on Friday night or Saturday morning.

For Saturday lunch, the WYC will host an outdoor barbecue which will be free for anyone showing a boat and for vendor participants.  The WYC clubhouse will open at 12 noon and be available for refreshments or sit down dining.  The afternoon will continue the boat show protion of the show with a planned boat parade proceeding past the yacht club at 4:00 pm.  The assembled group can either start to remove their boats from the water or continue on upstream on Wicomico Creek for a "no wake" water tour of the area.  Larger planing hull boats may opt for a self-guided quick run to the Chesapeake Bay or towards Salisbury.  The creek tour will return to the WYC docks around 6:00 pm to tie up for the night or pull out a the ramp.  Free overnight dockage will be provided to boat show participants.

As the boats arrive back at WYC live music will be starting in the clubhouse and the lounge/dining room will be available to recreate the day's events and to celebrate boating.
